Crusader

Xe stood with pride, her grin was wide

She'd beaten down her foe.

A lie was found, and Xe came 'round

She fought Nadjara toe to toe.

When Xe thought that she had fought

And won, she turned with glee.

With a screech and roar, Nadjara came for more;

And Xe was beaten to her knees.

When she awoke, a tooth was broke.

Her bard had left her there.

She'd been deceived and couldn't leave

Poor Gabby in 'her' care.

Xe faced her foe and beat her, tho

She'd a millstone 'round her neck.

Xe was made a fool, there'd be a duel.

This time she'd win, by heck!

Nadjara lost, what was the cost?

Xe's boot did crush her hand.

Twas the Djinn's light that caused this plight;

Gabs' code would make a stand.

She entreated Xe, on bended knee

'Don't kill her, Xe", she said.

"Nadjara would pay the price the law's way

For the innocent and the dead."

And in the end, the foe and friend

Did whisper their goodbyes.

Gabs had dared to trust, as ever she must

And had fallen for the lies.

As Xe stood there, her heart did tear

For Nadjara their trust did rob.

As Xe turned away, she heard her say

'I won't hurt her...that's your job.'

But they've grown apart, away from the start

Where Gabby was the light.

Now Xe can see light is her Destiny

But Gabs' way has turned to night.

Does anyone know, where the love of love goes

When the trust has gone away?

Their lessons learned, love once more earned;

Their mistakes they'd have to pay.

Til once more they stand on Grecian land

And look up unto the stars.

Their future would be entwined and free

For the Kerry's and the Dar's.
