I feel fortunate I was able to contribute to it this afternoon then
before it imploded. Maybe I helped their decision along. I pointed
the useless expenditure of energy trying to invoke censorship in this
country over a TV show, when they should really direct their efforts at
ending hunger, and creating a better quality of life for the peoples of
their country.
I also reminded them that protests that are built on hysterical
reactions, only serve to create animosity. Wars have been started for
less.

I went to the protest book as I have been enjoying so many of the responses
by so many and obviously intelligent posters and what did I find? . Well,
they killed it. I don't think they are into freedom of speech and obviously
did not want who they meant to post there reading anything positive.
This is what you will find:
Sign The Protest Book : The protest has ended successfully, therefore the
protest book has been disabled.
I agree it did end sucessfully. We overwhelmed it with positive posts about
Xena.
Good job all!!!!

That site originally was set up to protest the airing of The Way. It seems
they abandoned it or just set it up and left. The xenites have, it seems,
conquered it. I have not seen any responses by them or any new original
"anti" protests. What sanity is there is setting up a page and leave it so
wide open to us. I am just bewildered at their page and no responses to the
overwhelming support of this EP on an anti Xena page that is supposedly
automatically forwarded to TPTB at XWP.

I have been in contact with some people from AHAD, and they
seem to be people of good will, but they don't understand
that their protest is being counterproductive. I have tried
to explain to them that Xena fans were becoming interested
in the Hindu deities and Indian culture before all this
happened, but now, people are just disgusted.
You can write to the folks at AHAD via this email address:
hsc@hindunet.org.
They also have a guestbook you can sign. It was evidently
meant for people protesting the show, but many Xenites have
expressed their opposition to the protest there. Some of
the messages are eloquent and moving.
The guestbook is at:

After reading the protest book, I must say that I am proud to be a Xenaite!
These people do not understand how numerous we are, and we are more than
willing to fight (I mean that in a nonviolent way) just as hard as they did
to stop this nonsense. What a great community we have here.

Looks like people, seems like fans of the show(Hindu or not, i do not
know) have supported, rather than protest, the show, producers, etc
recently in AHAD's Xena Protest Book. This might just be a good idea in
actually supporting your views that the show did more good than harm in
making the viewer awar of other cultures, without dissrespecting that
culture, and sparking a hunger for knowlege in the fan that would
otherwise not know.
